Do I have to bring my RV in?
For most jobs, yes — that's where we do our best work, with the space, tools, and controlled conditions to do resealing, patching, decking repair, and full roof replacements correctly. We do offer mobile service, but it's reserved for RVs that are permanently set up at a campground or property and can't be moved.
How much does RV roof repair cost?
Cost depends entirely on what needs to be done. A routine reseal is significantly less than a full roof replacement. We always inspect and provide a written estimate before any work begins — there's no guessing, and you're never committed until you approve the quote.
What's the difference between resealing and a full roof replacement?
Resealing addresses the seams, vents, and penetrations on a roof that's otherwise in decent shape — it's routine maintenance. A full replacement is for roofs that have failed: torn membrane, soft decking, or damage beyond what a reseal or patch can fix.
How often should an RV roof be resealed?
Most manufacturers recommend checking your roof every 3–4 months and resealing as needed, typically once a year. RVs stored outside or used heavily benefit from more frequent checks.
What causes an RV roof to leak?
The most common causes are dried or cracked sealant around vents, AC units, and seams; membrane damage from tree limbs or hail; and UV degradation over time. Seams and penetrations are where almost every RV roof failure begins.
Can you fix a soft spot on my RV roof?
It depends on what caused it. A soft spot usually means moisture has reached the decking underneath the membrane. We inspect to find out how far the damage extends — if it's caught early, we may be able to patch and reseal. If the decking is rotted, it needs to come out and be replaced.
Do you work on EPDM, TPO, fiberglass, and PVC roofs?
Yes. We work on EPDM rubber, TPO, fiberglass/Filon, and PVC RV roofs, including patching, resealing, roll-on coatings, decking repair, and full tear-off replacement.
Do you work on campers and travel trailers, or just motorhomes?
Yes. We reseal, patch, and repair roofs on all types of campers — travel trailers, pop-ups, and fifth wheels — not just motorized RVs. If it has a roof and pulls or drives, we service it.
What is the difference between EPDM and TPO?
EPDM is a rubber membrane — flexible, widely used, and cost-effective. It bonds with adhesive and requires regular resealing at seams. TPO is a newer thermoplastic membrane, standard on most current production RVs. It has heat-welded seams rather than glued ones, and generally requires less maintenance over time. We work with both.
How long does RV roof resealing take?
A standard reseal — stripping old sealant, cleaning, and applying new lap sealant around all vents, seams, and penetrations — typically takes a few hours to a full day depending on the size of the RV and the number of penetrations. We need the sealant to cure properly before it's ready.
Do you serve areas outside of Ashland, KY?
Yes. We serve a wide region — from Lexington KY, across eastern Kentucky, into southern Ohio, and out to Charleston and Huntington WV. Many customers travel a distance to have work done.
